As a photographer, what am I looking for in a client?

Why does it matter what your photographer is looking for?  If you're just needing a passport photo, then it doesn't.  I'm wanting to create a portrait that is more than just a picture with your likeness on it.   Photography is how I express my creativity.  I enjoy the process of planning out the photo as much as taking it.  In order for me to achieve my goal as a photographer, you have to be willing to really put yourself into the photo.  That's going to be easier than you might think.  By building a session around something you're passionate about, it will be the most natural looking photo you've ever had.   Even if you think you take bad pictures.  I guarantee it.

What do you need to do?

Most importantly, you have to want to have an amazing portrait of you.  No one wants a bad photo, but wanting an amazing photo is very different from not wanting a bad one.  The way to do it is by creating a portrait of you doing something you're passionate about.  This is more than standing in front of a backdrop holding a football while you're wearing your letter jacket.  It will require finding a suitable location or even photographing you during an actual game or performance.  I have many years of experience photographing sporting events and stage performances under very dificult lighting conditions.  I'll be able to capture you at your best no matter what your passion is  (see my Action Superstars website for samples).  Even better yet, it may take some photoshop effects to aid in creating that amazing portrait. Photoshop gives the ability to really think outside the box to create somehting that doesn't exist under normal circumstances.

There's no risk on your part.

Photography is not how I pay my bills (I have a full time job for that).  I do photography because I really enjoy it.  It's my passion and creative outlet.  People that do photography as their source of income need  steady bookings and require a deposit to insure that the people that booked them will show.  That's not me.  I don't require a deposit and you're only charged if you're 100% thrilled with the results.  Since I do have a full time job, I am limited to the number of portraits I can do.  Send me an email or give me a call and tell me what it is that's your passion and we'll start brainstorming on a portrait session around it.  Don't be afraid to be thinking outside the box.  This is suppose to be fun!  I hope to hear from you soon!
